Mi has announced the Mi Air Charge Technology using which we can charge our devices up to several meters using the 5-watt remote charge.

We all have seen and dreamed about the technology that allows us to charge electronic devices without any power cable, and Xiaomi seems to have found a way to do just that. 

As per the reports from Xiaomi, Mi Air Charge Technology can charge up to 1 device as of now but Xiaomi is working on the solutions to charge many devices at the same time.

Mi Air Technology uses 5-watt remote charging for a single device and each device supports 5watts charging.

Xiaomi has developed an isolated charging pile with five phase interference antennas built-in, which detects the accurate location of smartphones. Using a phase control array having 144 antennas to transmit millimeter-wide waves directly to the phones through beamforming.

Xiaomi has developed miniaturized antennas with built-in beacon antennas for smartphones as well. Using the beacon antenna smartphone broadcasts the location information with low power consumption. The receiving antenna array having 14 antennas converts the wave signal emitted by the charging pile into electric energy through the rectifier circuit, to charge your smartphones.

As per Xiaomi, shortly, Mi Air Technology will be able to work with smartwatches, bracelets, and other wearable devices, with living room devices such as speakers, desk lamps, and other smart home products.

What to expect from Mi Air Charge Technology

As per the statement by Xiaomi in their official blog, Mi Air Charge Technology will be able to charge other Home Devices as well, including smart devices and wearable devices.

So, if everything turns out the way Xiaomi has panned, we'll be able to use the Mi Air Charge Technology for our all-day requirements. We'll be able to charge, Smartphones, Speakers, Smart Watches, Lamps, and other such devices. Well, how many and which products we will be able to charge using the Mi Air Charge Technology is not important as of now. 

What makes the Mi Air Charge Technology very interesting and revolutionary is that this is the first technology of its kind and even just a thought of devices getting charged without plugging any cable is fascinating.

We should see some similar products later on, as we have seen in the other technological innovations, every other company tries to make their version of said technology, after the first attempt towards making it. 

Issues and Problems with Remote Charging

The concept of Remote Charging comes with its problems and issues, there are many facts which needs to be confirmed before the remote charging proves to be effective. 

Such as the level of power received by the devices. What if the device received a high surge of energy which could result in damaging the device.

Will the wave signals affect the humans or living beings, if yes then how can it be safeguarded.
